The MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP) 2026 in the United States is now accepting applications. This prestigious, fully funded summer opportunity offers selected students the chance to gain hands-on research experience at one of the world’s top universities. The 2026 program will run from June 8 to August 8, giving participants two months of academic exposure, skill-building, and professional networking.

The core goal of MSRP is to inspire talented undergraduate students to pursue graduate studies at MIT by exposing them to advanced research, mentorship, and world-class facilities. Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the MIT Summer Research Program 2026, applicants must:

Academic Requirements

  • Hold a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)

  • Be enrolled full-time in a degree-granting institution within the U.S. or its territories (excluding MIT)

  • Be a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior

  • Must not graduate before December 2026

  • Have a strong interest in pursuing graduate studies at MIT

Citizenship Requirements

  • Eligible:

    • U.S. citizens

    • U.S. permanent residents

    • DACA recipients

    • International students currently studying full-time at U.S. universities

  • Not eligible:

    • Students completing bachelor’s degrees outside the U.S.

    • Exchange or short-term international students
